The Flame Game
Loud purring filled the general area of the pyre. This signaled the start of the day for the prince of the Flame Kingdom. Blaze has always been his alarm clock, and he never fails to wake him up.
The giant fire lion meowed softly at the pyre itself, poking it with his big paws. After a while, it got tired and just pouted at the oversized bonfire. Blaze had an even shorter temper than Flame Prince himself.
A yawn was heard from inside the teepee, and the fire lion smiled. Blaze sat down and started a little bonfire to accompany breakfast. For a bit, the fire of the teepee grew large and trailed to the spot beside the giant fire lion. It was the prince. The young prince stretched his arms before greeting his impatient steed. “What do you want for breakfast?” the prince sang. Blaze cuddled his master’s arm and purred loudly. The prince laughed, and hugged his friend.
The morning felt pretty normal, save for one thing. His heat sense told him another presence was nearby. But he couldn’t exactly see anything. He squinted his eyes and scanned the area. Blaze began meowing as he felt the presence as well.
“Who goes there?!”
AS the blaze on the house flared up, the little wisp darted away just a little, watching as from out it the young man appeared. What luck! She had been searching all over for some fire and she had found not only a house covered in flames but it seemed to be the home of a Fire Elemental and his pet.
The blue flame zipped right over as the prince questioned who was there. She circled the two at a bit of a distance, before stopping to hover near the bonfire. It really was like a prayer answered by Glob. She couldn’t wait to find out more.
But there was a problem. She had used the last of her energy to go into that mode to rest, so she couldn’t snapped herself out of it quite yet. She tried, but other than a momentary and small flare up, she was stuck. The princess just needed to buy herself a little time, just until she could turn back to her normal form. But how was she going to communicate?
Bobbing up and down in the air was really all she could do at the moment. So she would just have to that in a friendly manner. If there really was such a thing. Circling the bon fire once she this time stopped rather close to the prince, hoping he wouldn’t think that she was some sort of strange hostile thing.
“Huh?”
The prince tilted his head. He has never seen an entity like this before, even in books. Though, his heat sense told him it was a fire entity as well, though not an elemental. Blaze glared at it like a cat would a laser pointer. ”Eh, Blaze, don’t!” he hissed at the fire lion. The oversized cat just pouted at him and sat down.
“What if… I set it on fire?” he raised an eyebrow at the floating thing as his finger drew near it, as if to poke it.
